Judges hear appeal in Beyonce caseA panel of US Federal Court judges today (October 3) heard the appeal of a Minnesota woman who is alleging that Beyonce used her lyrics in the hit song 'Baby Boy'.
Jennifer Armour's lawyer filed a copyright infringement suit against Beyonce last year, alleging that the pop star took the lyrics from Armour's song 'Got a Little Bit of Love for You'.
Armour's attorney argued that an expert panel determined that the two songs were "substantially similar". The judge ruled in Beyonce's favour, stating that the two songs were "substantially dissimilar."
Now Armour is appealing the decision at a three-day hearing in the New Orleans-based 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, reports the Associated Press. The panel has not yet given a ruling. The Game charged with felony in LA
The Game was charged in Los Angeles today (June 4) with making a criminal threat and possessing a firearm in a school.
The felony charges are a result of a fight the rapper was involved in during a basketball game on February 24 in South Los Angeles.
The Game, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, allegedly pulled a gun from his Cadillac Escalade after punching a player on the opposing team and threatening to shoot him, reports the Associated Press.
The rapper was arrested on May 11 at his home in Glendale, California and was released on $50,000 bail.
He is due to be arraigned tomorrow (June 5) in Los Angeles. If convicted, he could face up to five years in jail.
